A pizzeria near Roquevaire: our eight pizzas, one by one

When you are looking for a pizzeria from Roquevaire, you want to know what will land on your plate before you get in the car. So here is the menu, straight up. It opens with the two great classics of Naples: the Marinara (tomato sauce, garlic and oregano, 9 euros), which does without cheese and leaves the stage to the tomato, then the Margherita (tomato sauce, mozzarella and basil, 11 euros), the benchmark recipe for judging a Neapolitan pizza near Roquevaire or anywhere else.

Next come the Regina (tomato sauce, mozzarella, mushrooms, cooked ham and basil, 14 euros) and the Diavola (tomato sauce, mozzarella and spianata, 15 euros), the only spicy pizza on the menu thanks to that fiery salami. For a change of register, two tomato-free bases: the Genovese (Ligurian pesto cream, 100 g of burrata and parmesan, 16 euros) and the Quattro Formaggi (crème fraîche, parmesan, gorgonzola, mozzarella and smoked provola, 16 euros).

Finally, two richer pizzas: the Tartufo (truffle cream, mozzarella, truffle burrata, rocket and parmesan, 17 euros) and our signature, which bears the name of the house, the Pepe Zino (crème fraîche, mozzarella, mortadella, goat cheese and pistachio, 18 euros). From Monday to Friday at lunchtime, the Marinara, the Margherita and the Regina are also part of the 14-euro Lunch Set, drink included. For everything about the house on the pizza side, head to our pizzeria in Aubagne page.

Quick pizza stop or trattoria: here, you sit down at the table

A quick pizza stop means ordering at the counter, a box on the passenger seat and a pizza going cold on the drive home. Pepe Zino works differently: we serve exclusively on site, at the table, and the pizza reaches you straight out of the oven. A trattoria is also about taking the time to order an antipasto to share, to taste the pasta of the person next to you, to finish with a dessert and a coffee without watching the clock.

This spirit comes from Pepe Zino himself, the grandfather of the two founders, who imagined the place to share the family's real Italian recipes, with generosity and conviviality. Today the chefs are Italian, so is the manager, and the cooking is 100% homemade. That is what we call the trattoria spirit: table service, 7 days a week, lunch and dinner, Sundays and public holidays included.

Beyond pizza

Antipasti, pasta and desserts: the menu beyond pizza

A meal you settle into rarely starts with the main course. Among the antipasti, the Focaccia & Burrata (warm focaccia, 100 g of burrata, olive oil and basil pesto, 9 euros) is shared in the middle of the table, just like the Polpette (ground beef, pecorino, garlic and parsley, 10 euros) or the Fritto Misto, a mix of fried fish at 14 euros. For two, the cheese board (20 euros) or the mixed board, featuring among other things Parma ham, Bologna mortadella, bresaola and coppa (22 euros), open the meal. All the starters are presented on our antipasti page.

On the pasta side, the Cacio e Pepe (spaghetti, pecorino cream and black pepper, 12 euros) proves that a few well-chosen ingredients are enough. The Carbonara Roma (16 euros) brings together spaghetti, guanciale, egg yolk, pecorino romano and black pepper, the ingredients of the Roman recipe. Seafood lovers will go for the Alla Vongole (linguine, clams, garlic, white wine, parsley and tomatoes, 17 euros). Between those three, the Arrabbiata (13 euros), the Pesto di Liguria (14 euros), the spaghetti with Polpette (15 euros) and the Tartufo with truffle cream (16 euros) round out the list.

To finish, the tiramisu (mascarpone, coffee-soaked biscuits, amaretto, 7 euros), the cannoli with ricotta, chocolate chips and pistachio (7 euros), the panna cotta with red berries, passion fruit or honey (6 euros), the rum baba (9 euros) or, to stay on theme, the Nutella Pizza at 8 euros. The Italian gourmet coffee or tea (11 euros) brings together tiramisu, cannoli and baba. The full details, drinks included, are on the restaurant menu.

Everything is prepared in the kitchen, then savoured in the dining room or veranda

In the dining room, 120 seats including 60 in the veranda, step-free access and accessible toilets: a family from Roquevaire, pushchair and grandparents included, settles in with no difficulty. For the youngest, high chairs and the 9-euro Bambino Kids Menu: a drink, pasta with tomato and basil sauce or a Margherita pizza, then one scoop of ice cream.
